Hey LovinLosin Fam!

Are you all ready for Valentine's Day?! Mentally, I am pumped to spend a weekend away with my hubby, now I'm working on the physical part! I have a goal of wanting to lose 6 lbs before Valentine's. It's a lofty goal but I don't think it's impossible! However, I am behind schedule with about 2.8 lbs ... but I'm working hard, keeping a good attitude and making strides every day! Isn't that all we can do!? Here is a quote that has been helping me to stay motivated -

I'm going to be a Maker not a Wanter/Wisher! So, here is a recipe that is helping me get prepared for and celebrate Valentine's day. It focuses on the "forbidden fruit" - grapefruit! This smoothie is extremely refreshing and all around good for you.

Why is that?

  • Grapefruit is a rich source of Vitamin C
  • Grapefruit contains antioxidants
  • Studies have shown that grapefruit helps lower cholesterol
  • Grapefruit has a low glycemic index

The fro-yo and stevia adds a touch of sweetness to the grapefruit and strawberries.

I made a large batch of this smoothie, placed them into individual single serving bags and then placed them in the freezer so I could have a fast, healthy, refreshing breakfast every morning! Give these a try and let me know what you think!

Strawberry Grapefruit Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 C Ruby Red Grapefruit20160103_210634

1/3 C Frozen, Unsweetened Strawberries

1/4 C Fat Free Frozen Vanilla Yogurt

1 Stevia Packet

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a blender and blend. Because I made a large batch, I had to press down on the ingredients to get them to blend.
